A Pentecostal Holiness church, Scarborough Tabernacle occupied 215 Kennedy Road for many years, but membership was dwindling.  Reverend Haitram and Sister Shirley Samaroo were invited by the overseer to move to Canada and assume the pastorate.  When they came in 1988, only one member remained, Sister Eunice Davis. She joined them, and People’s Worship Centre was born.

The three labored faithfully for many years with prayer and house-to-house visitation. New believers were slowly added and the church grew.
The church building was renovated to a beautiful sanctuary in 2000 and the adjoining property was purchased in 2011.

In 2014,  Christ's Life-spring Ministry,  Brampton, was launched as a daughter church under the leadership of Rev. David Jawahir.

Rev. Samaroo retired and Rev. Dr. Michael Ali assumed leadership in 2018.

Our Mission & Vision

WORSHIP GOD. WIN THE LOST. NOURISH THE FOUND.

Our Mission

We are a body of born-again believers whose lives have been changed by power of the Lord Jesus Christ. We gather to worship Him, receive Biblical teaching to grow in His grace and knowledge and have enjoyable fellowship with the believers.  This propels us to share the good news of His love to everyone so they can experience the new and abundant life in Jesus Christ.

The Vision

The vision of People's Worship Centre is to create a community of authentic believers and to witness a city transformed by the life changing reality of the gospel, as people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The following are the core beliefs of People's Worship Centre based on the foundational truths taught in the Bible.
All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

Inspiration of the Scriptures

The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is without error and bears authority over our lives.
It is the full revelation of God’s redemption plan for mankind.

God

There is one true God who is eternal, of infinite power, wisdom and goodness, the Creator and Preserver of all things.
The God of the Bible exists as three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and each person is fully God and there is one God.

Jesus

The Lord Jesus Christ was fully God and fully man.  He was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life.He suffered, was crucified, dead, and buried to reconcile us to the Father. By His death, He paid the full price for all our sins. Christ rose from the dead and ascended into heaven and there sits until He shall return to judge all men at the last day.

Man

Man’s sin has separated him from a good, loving God. Salvation from sin is provided freely for all mankind by the death of Jesus. Those who are saved from sin will inherit eternal life.

Salvation

The evidence of salvation is the born-again experience. Salvation is by faith alone, not by good works.

Sanctification

There is one true God who is eternal, of infinite power, wisdom and goodness, the Creator and Preserver of all things. The God of the Bible exists as three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and each person is fully God and there is one God.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

The Pentecostal baptism of the Holy Spirit is available to every believer and that
the initial evidence of this experience is speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.

Divine Healing

Divine healing is included in the atonement of Christ.

Return of Christ

The Lord Jesus Christ will soon return for His church and judge the world.
He will usher us into a new heaven and new earth.

Judgment

There will be a final judgment in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works. Whosoever is not found written in the Book of Life will be consigned to the everlasting punishment in the lake of fire.

Evangelism

It is the responsibility of every believer to dedicate his life to carrying out the work of the Great Commission.
