A Pentecostal Holiness church, Scarborough Tabernacle occupied 215 Kennedy Road for many years, but membership was dwindling. Reverend Haitram and Sister Shirley Samaroo were invited by the overseer to move to Canada and assume the pastorate. 

When they came in 1988, only one member remained, Sister Eunice Davis. She joined them, and People’s Worship Centre was born. The three labored faithfully for many years with prayer and house-to-house visitation. New believers were slowly added and the church grew. 

The church building was renovated to a beautiful sanctuary in 2000 and the adjoining property was purchased in 2011. 

In 2014, Christ's Life-spring Ministry, Brampton, was launched as a daughter church under the leadership of Rev. David Jawahir. Rev. Samaroo retired and Rev. Dr. Michael Ali assumed leadership in 2018.To God be the glory!
